Description:

The City of Worcester needed a new 600-student school for Pre-K through 6th grade neighborhood elementary school that could accommodate a large population of students with disabilities, including half of all students with autism from across the district

The new school features flexible, movable furniture and lighting to accommodate different learning and teaching styles as well as a variety of technologies to enhance and support learners of all abilities

The City also made a commitment to environmental sustainability, targeting net zero energy, as part of a bigger Climate Action Plan to reduce Worcester’s energy use and greenhouse gas emissions

The new school is twice the size of the former school and yet is projected to use half the energy
